Review – Burster Alien (Fireteam Elite)

If you’re into the darker, more grotesque side of the Alien universe, the Burster Alien from Aliens: Fireteam Elite is one of the most visually aggressive figures NECA has produced—and it absolutely delivers in hand.

Sculpt & Detail

This thing looks properly unsettling. NECA nailed the swollen, volatile body design, with the sculpt capturing that “about to explode” tension the Burster is known for. The surface texture has a wet, organic feel, and the translucent elements really sell the idea of acid-filled pressure building inside. It’s not a clean Xenomorph—it’s messy, mutated, and that’s exactly the point.

Articulation & Display

With 30+ points of articulation and a bendable tail, you’ve got plenty of posing options for display setups.
That said, like most alien-style figures, it shines more in dynamic crouched or lunging poses rather than upright stances. The long limbs and tail give it a lot of presence in a diorama—especially if you’re building a Fireteam Elite scene.

Presence in a Collection

At around 7-inch scale (closer to ~9" in height depending on pose), it fits perfectly alongside other NECA Alien figures.
What makes it stand out is that it’s not just another Xeno—it’s a specialist variant, which instantly adds variety to your display. Pair it with a standard Drone or Spitter and it becomes a real focal piece.
